Medieval 2: Total Wars (PC)

Medieval 2 is a indirect sequel to 2002's Medieval: Total War and the fourth game in the critically acclaimed Total War series from The Creative Assembly, is a game of turn-based strategic rounds and real-time tactically-oriented battles. The game is set between the years 1080 and 1530. Like the original Medieval, it focuses on medieval warfare, religion, and politics in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. However, unlike its predecessor, the timeframe stretches into the era of the historical discovery of the New World, and simulates the discovery and conquest of the Americas. Medieval II is built on the code base of Rome: Total War.

Pros:Has a awesome gameplay where you can control thousands of troops and see each individuals face. Battles are intense and fighting is very realistic. You can construct dozens upon dozens of different buildings for your kingdom. You can negotiate with other countries to create alliances or make new enemy's. Allows you to have total domination. Can pick of a wide variety of factions. Can go on Holy Crusades which are really cool. Very Nice graphics.

Cons: Negotiating with other factions is often difficult and they often refuse your offers. No one will ever stay your ally throughout the whole game. Naval battles are automaticlly simulated. Units disband too quickly when doing crusades. Completing factions are a little to short

Bottom Line: This is a great game with little flaws that should be played by anyone who likes historical turn-based strategy games.

Empire: Total War

Picture
Empire: Total War is the 5th in the Total War games. According to totalwar.com, Empire: Total War lets you Command the seas, control the land, forge a new nation, and conquer the globe. Empire: Total War takes the Total War franchise to the eighteenth century Age of Enlightenment -- a time of political upheaval, military advancements, and radical thought, captured in stunning detail in Empire: Total War.

Empire: Total War introduces a host of revolutionary new features, including true 3D naval combat. For the first time in the Total War series, you will be able to intuitively command single ships or vast fleets upon seascapes rich with extraordinary water and weather effects that play a huge role in your eventual glorious success or ignominious defeat. After pummelling your enemy with cannon fire, close in to grapple their ship and prepare to board, taking control of your men as they fight hand-to-hand on the decks of these wooden behemoths.

In addition, Empire: Total War will see further enhancements to the Total War series’ signature 3D battles and turn-based campaign map. Real-time battles will pose new challenges with the addition of cannon and musket, challenging players to master new formations and tactics as a result of the increasing role of gunpowder within warfare. And the Campaign Map -- for many, the heart of Total War -- introduces a variety of new and upgraded elements, including new systems for Trade, Diplomacy and Espionage with agents; a refined and streamlined UI; improved Advisors; and a vastly extended scope, taking in the riches of India, the turbulence of Europe and, for the first time, the untapped potential of the United States of America.

Pros: Amazing battle can be formed with huge amounts of troops, Bigger playable map to conquer and control, many building and troops. Easy to gain money and maintain troops, but not too easy. New Naval battles with EXTREME detail.

Cons: Sometimes the AI will act up and not function correctly. Limited diversity in troops. Naval battles are hard to control and not all that enjoyable.
